In our house when someone gets hurt, we call the site of their injury a "bo-bo." We pronounce bo-bo with long o's - as in BOws and arrows. Most people I know use the more common "boo-boo." The different pronounciations of this word have recently caused Busy bee some confusion.
Just the other day, we took Baby bee to her 2yrs. old well-child doctor appointment. Due to some horsing around the day before, she had a big goose-egg on her forehead. When the doctor came into the examining room she looked at Baby bee's head and said, "Wow, you've got a big boo-boo!" Busy bee looked at the doctor in shock and exclaimed, "Baby bee doesn't have boobs yet. She won't get those until she is bigger."
After a quick blush, the pediatrician looked at me and said knowingly, "I can only guess at the coversations you've been having lately."
If only she really knew...
